Here's short movie of the things I got up to on my family summer holiday to Orlando. It was a jammed packed 2 weeks (which made it hard to cut the video down into such a short pace of time!), full of fun and laughter.
The best experience for me had to be swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove; I couldn't believe how friendly the dolphins were. They had such a sense of fun, the sort that makes you appreciate the little things in life. Their skin felt almost like velvet and you could really feel the power they were capable of exerting when pulling you through the water. I learnt a lot about these intelligent animals, from how they socially interact to their anatomy. I was pleased to hear about all the work that the SeaWorld and Discovery Cove (two parks of a family of attractions called SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment) put in to the care and conservation of not only dolphins but all types of animals all over the world. I wouldn't call myself a massive animal fan, but it has made me appreciate the animal care, conservation, rescue and research that SeaWorld does and it is something I will show more interest to in the future. I understand that SeaWorld has been under much scrutiny over the past few years about the welfare of animals. After visiting the parks, I can see both sides to the argument. However, this is something I'd like to discuss in another post (keep your eyes peeled!).
Another great experience was the Harry Potter World, linking both the Universal and Islands of Adventure parks. I truly felt like I was walking through Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley!
I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.
